Posner’s staff are trained and have years of experience grading all metal materials. If the metal you bring in is difficult to grade because of its complex chemical makeup, we have a Niton analyzer to examine exactly what type of material you are selling.

Our yard has material handler cranes, front end loaders and forklifts to safely help unload any heavy items from your vehicle. We have professionally trained employees working to ensure your safety in the yard. To give our customers the service they deserve we work to make sure that you understand how we are grading your materials and that you are clear on what you are selling before you sell it.

MATERIALS WE ACCEPT FOR RECYCLING

	A/C Units	Residential and commercial air conditioning systems are accepted once properly drained and decommissioned.
	Auto Cast	Cast Iron Car break rotors and Truck drums
	Bushelling	Clean industrial steel scrap generated during manufacturing, stamping, or production work. Material should be free from coatings and contaminants.
	Cast Iron	Heavy iron products such as pipes, grates, machine parts, radiators, and cookware.
	Complete Vehicles	Scrap cars, trucks, and other vehicles may be accepted for recycling once fluids, batteries, and hazardous materials have been removed. Contact the facility for requirements, documentation, and availability before drop-off.
	Dealer Clips	Clean, lightweight steel scrap that is free from insulation, rubber, plastic, or other contaminants.
	Heavy Melt (HMS)	Dense scrap steel recovered from equipment, demolition projects, and older industrial materials.
	Machinery	Industrial or agricultural equipment is accepted once fluids, fuel, and batteries have been safely removed.
	Mixed Tin / Shred	Light steel materials with small amounts of attached non-metal items such as plastic, insulation, or wiring.
	Plate & Structural	Heavy structural steel materials, including beams, plates, channels. Must be 1/4 thick. There is a premium for pieces that are "prepared" 2ft wide 4ft long or under.
	Rebar	Steel reinforcing rods are commonly used in concrete and construction applications.
	Steel Rims	Metal rims from cars, trucks, or equipment. Tires and rubber components must be removed before recycling.
	Steel Turnings	Small steel shavings, chips, or filings are produced during machining and metalworking processes.
	White Goods	Household appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, and dishwashers.

	Alternators / Starters	Copper wound auto parts. Keep alternators and starters separated for the best pricing!
	Bare Bright / Millberry Wire	Clean, uncoated copper wire with a bright finish, commonly recovered from electrical systems and wiring. Must be 14 gauge wire or heavier.
	Brass	Mixed brass materials such as plumbing fittings, valves, handles, nozzles, and machine shop scrap. Must be free of all iron, plastic, and zinc contamination such as handles for best price.
	Brass EDM Wire	Specialized brass wire used in precision cutting and machining applications.
	Brass Faucets	Household and commercial faucets are made primarily of brass, sometimes with attached plastic or metal parts.
	Brass Shells	Spent brass casings from ammunition. Only empty shells are accepted.
	Brass Turnings	Small brass shavings and filings are produced during machining and manufacturing processes.
	Bronze	Copper-based alloy is commonly found in bushings, bearings, sculptures, and industrial parts.
	Compressors	Compressors from appliances, HVAC systems, and refrigeration units that contain copper and steel components. Must be drained of oil.
	Copper Brass Auto Radiators	Radiators with copper fins and brass tubes. Most often found in older cars, trucks, and equipment. Remove all iron for the best price.
	Copper Pipe	Copper tubing and pipe are commonly used in plumbing and HVAC systems. Different grades may be accepted depending on the condition and attachments.
	Copper Transformers	Electrical transformers contain copper windings and other recyclable metal components.
	Electric Motors	Motors from industrial equipment, appliances, and machinery that contain copper windings and steel parts.
	Sheet Copper (#3 Copper)	Copper sheets and flashing are used in roofing applications. Material should be free from heavy tar or roofing debris.

	AL Thermal Break Extrusion	Aluminum extrusions from window and door frames with plastic insulation between the pieces.
	Aluminum / Copper Radiators	Radiators containing both aluminum and copper are accepted, including units with minor steel or plastic attachments.
	Aluminum Cans	All beverage cans, including pop, soda, and beer cans, can be recycled. Crushing cans can help with easier handling and storage.
	Aluminum Radiator	Clean aluminum radiators and condensers from vehicles or HVAC systems are accepted. Fluids and major attachments should be removed.
	Aluminum Rims	Aluminum vehicle rims are accepted, including chrome and chrome-clad styles. For the highest price, remove valve stems, and wheel weights uness the rims are chrome painted or clad.
	Aluminum Siding	Aluminum siding, eavestroughs, and gutters are accepted when free from foam, wood, plastic, or other attached materials.
	Aluminum Turnings	Small aluminum shavings and chips created during machining and manufacturing processes.
	Cast Aluminum	Heavy aluminum items made through casting, such as engine parts, cookware, and machinery components, are accepted.
	Extruded Aluminum	Extruded aluminum from window frames, door frames, ladders, and railings is accepted. Material should be free from glass, rubber, and excess hardware.
	Insulated Aluminum Wire	Aluminum wire with plastic or rubber insulation is accepted. Recovery value may depend on wire type and aluminum content.
	Irony Aluminum	Aluminum items with attached steel, iron, screws, or other contaminants fall into this category.
	MLC (Mixed Low Copper)	Mixed Low-Copper aluminum includes sheet-style aluminum alloys with very low copper content and minimal contamination including paint, iron, and non metallics.
	Old Sheet Aluminum	Painted aluminum sheet with paint and a maximum of 3% iron contamination.

	ACSR	Aluminum conductor steel-reinforced wire is commonly used in overhead power distribution lines.
	Aluminum BX	Aluminum armoured electric cable.
	Car Harness Wires	Electrical wire bundles are removed from cars, trucks, and other vehicles.
	Christmas Lights	Decorative lighting strands accepted with bulbs attached.
	Ethernet Cable	Communication and network cables are commonly used for internet, phone, and data connections.
	Extension / Power Cords	Power cords from household appliances, tools, electronics, and extension cables containing insulated wire.
	Insulated Aluminum Wire	Aluminum wire covered with insulation is commonly found in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems.
	Insulated Copper Wire (ICW)	Copper wiring with plastic or rubber insulation is commonly recovered from electrical systems, appliances, and renovation projects.
	Copper / Aluminum BX	Armoured cable with an aluminum outer casing used in residential and commercial electrical applications.

	304 Stainless Steel (Non-Magnetic)	Corrosion-resistant stainless steel is commonly used in kitchen equipment, food processing, and industrial applications.
	316 Stainless Steel (Non-Magnetic)	Premium stainless steel with enhanced resistance to moisture, chemicals, and salt exposure. Often found in marine and industrial settings.
	Ballasts	Electrical ballasts from lighting systems are accepted when clearly marked as free of PCBs.
	Tungsten Carbide	An extremely hard, dense, and durable tungsten/cobalt ceramic composite. It is most commonly used in industrial tooling and cutting.
	Catalytic Converters	Vehicle exhaust components that contain recyclable precious metals used in emissions control systems.
	Hastelloy	Nickel and molybdenum alloy is commonly used in chemical plants, industrial equipment, and harsh operating environments.
	Inconel	High-performance nickel alloy designed for heat-resistant and corrosive environments.
	Lead	A soft and dense metal, often found in old pipes, scuba weights, in car batteries, and several other applications.

	Air Conditioners	Window, rooftop, and portable air conditioning units are accepted once refrigerants and gases have been safely removed.
	Aluminum Cans	All beverage cans, including soda, pop, and beer cans, can be recycled. Rinsing and crushing cans can make handling easier.
	Aluminum Siding	Aluminum siding, gutters, and eavestroughs from residential properties are accepted. Material should be free from foam, wood, or other contaminants.
	Appliances	Household appliances such as dishwashers, washers, dryers, fridges, and stoves are accepted once all fluids and gases have been removed.
	Bicycles	Bicycles with steel or aluminum frames are accepted, along with metal bike parts and accessories.
	Christmas Lights	Holiday light strands are accepted with bulbs attached.
	Copper Tubing	Copper tubing commonly used in plumbing, heating, and renovation projects is accepted.
	Lawnmower	Lawnmowers are accepted after draining all fuel, oil, and fluids.
	Pots & Pans	Cookware made from aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, or other metals can be recycled once no longer in use.
	Power & Hand Tools	Electric tools, hand tools, drills, saws, and other metal tools are accepted, especially those containing motors or metal components.
	Radiators	Home heating radiators are accepted once drained of fluids and prepared for recycling.
	Snowblower	Snowblowers can be recycled once fuel, oil, and other fluids have been removed.
	Sports Equipment	Metal sports items, including trampoline frames, exercise equipment, gym weights, and sports nets, can be recycled once non-metal parts are removed.
	Tin Cans	Tin food cans are accepted once rinsed and free from food residue.
	Water Heater	Water heaters can be recycled once drained and disconnected from any gas or electrical connections.
	Wrought Iron Fencing	Decorative wrought iron fencing, gates, and railings are accepted for recycling.

	Car Batteries	Lead-acid batteries from cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other vehicles are accepted for recycling.
	Forklift Batteries	Large lead-acid batteries from forklifts, pallet jacks, and industrial equipment can be recycled.
	Household Batteries	We do not accept alkaline household batteries such as AA, AAA, C, D, or 12V batteries. Rechargeable batteries, including NiMH, lithium-ion, NiCd, and button batteries, are also not accepted.
	Lead Acid Batteries	Sealed lead-acid batteries used in backup systems, sump pumps, and emergency power equipment are accepted.
	Steel Case Batteries	Steel-cased lead-acid batteries used in industrial and commercial equipment are accepted.

	Cameras	Digital cameras, camcorders, and other optical devices are accepted for recycling.
	Cell Phones & Tablets	Old smartphones, tablets, and similar handheld electronics can be recycled even if no longer working.
	Computers	Desktop towers are accepted when complete with internal parts such as the motherboard, hard drive, and power supply.
	CPU Boards	Electronic circuit boards and processor boards from computers and other devices are accepted. Batteries must remain attached to the electronics unless they are alkaline batteries.
	Hard Drives	Internal and external hard drives from computers and laptops are accepted. Personal data should be removed before recycling.
	Laptops	Laptops are accepted with or without batteries and may include notebooks and other portable computers.
	Printers	Home and office printers, scanners, fax machines, and commercial printing equipment are accepted.
	Televisions	Flat screen, plasma, LED, LCD, and older CRT televisions are accepted for recycling.

MATERIALS ACCEPTED WITH SPECIAL CONDITIONS

	Aerosol Cans	Accepted only if fully empty and free from pressure. Cans should be punctured, crushed, or prepared according to local recycling requirements.
	Cylinders	Accepted only when completely empty, cut open, and free from valves, liquids, and vapours.
	Drums, Totes, Pails	Containers must be fully empty, open, or crushed with no remaining solids, liquids, or vapours inside.
	Storage Tanks	Storage tanks are accepted only if they can be safely inspected and verified to be free from sludge, residue, and combustible vapours.
